Accounts Officer

Guide Dogs Queensland is seeking an Accounts Officer to join our Client Services Team. This full time position will be based from our lovely campus at Bald Hills.

Reporting to the Pathways Practice Manager, this position is responsible in undertaking the Accounts Receivable function, will provide professional and confidential administration services and will generally be the first point of contact with funding organisations.

The Accounts Officer duties also includes:

  • Preparing and sending invoices and statements.
  • Processing debtor receipts, follow up outstanding debt and review outstanding debtors.
  • Maintaining accurate and up to date client records for client services and equipment.
  • Maintaining accurate financial records (petty cash, expenditure, reconciliations and requests for reimbursement).
  • Invoicing and AR monitoring of NDIS, Medicare and Private Health services.
  • Administrative duties relating to the NDIS and other funding sources.

About You

We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, confident and enthusiastic and will be able to demonstrate previous work experience in a similar role with a strong client focus and provide excellent customer service.

Our successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate:

  • A thorough understanding of accounting principles including double-entry accounting, reconciliations and reporting.
  • Knowledge of invoicing and accounts receivable for medical income, eg. Medicare, DVA, NDIS.
  • Certificate IV in accounting or equivalent qualification or knowledge and experience.
  • Experience in using financial management software and reporting tools.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce- Lumary/ Skedulo, Xero or Netsuite (desirable)
